Our Arizona Trip

This weekend we drove down to Arizona to visit Bobbie's family. Ash was in town from Maryland, Uncle Kevin and his family were in town from San Francisco and it was Liam's first birthday. So EVERYONE was there. This is a very rare occurrence to have the whole family together.

We did some family stuff and did some things on our own too. Jeff insisted we take his favorite dog ever (Sissy) for a walk every day. This was really fun because we got to wonder around the neighborhood and everyone there was super friendly! We found a church there to go to on Sunday and everyone was just as sweet in the ward.
We have really been trying to make it a part of our trips to visit the temples near our destination. We had a special experience this time when we went to the Mesa AZ Temple. It was such a beautiful place and was just as busy, if not more, than our temples home in Utah. It really just hit home with us that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the same EVERYWHERE in the world. This would only make sense because the Spirit is the same everywhere and can be felt by everyone, but it really just shows how much God loves his children. Everyone can take part in the happiness of this wonderful Gospel, the Lord finds a way for all of us to have the opportunity to hear his message. We love the missionaries and appreciate their hard work and dedication in helping with this great work. Through these great Saints peoples lives are changed forever. I know mine was. This is just one of the many ways He finds a way to offer happiness to EVERYONE, He is waiting for us with his arms wide open.

All Nighter....

So this weekend we did not have a lot planned and it really worked out great for us! Every waking moment is usually planned out precisely so we can fit everything into our schedules, but not Friday night or most of Saturday. This was great news when a lady came into Jeff's work and asked if anyone wanted some tickets to see Sinbad performing at Tuacahn. It was so much fun to see his comedy act! We could not believe how talented this guy is! His whole show he was on his feet, coming up with witty remarks about St. George and the people of the area. If I hadn't known any better, I would have thought he'd grew up around here! It was a really clean and awesome show, we LOVED IT!!!
Before we went to the show we tried out this new place, Dickey's Barbecue Pit...which was AMAZING!!!! Not only was their food so so good, you can have as many free pickles and free icecream as you want! And there are so many things to choose from on their menu it was so hard to decide what to get! But everything smelled so good and everything we tried was delicious! Go there, you just have to try it! After the show we decided to stop and get some energy drinks to pull an all nighter! For those who know me, they know I can't stay up late, EVER.(at least since being married)
But I decided to give in and pull an all nighter so we could finish the first season of PRISON BREAK. This show is crazy and we only had like 5 or 6 episodes left, so we decided we couldn't go to bed until they broke out of that place! We did it, and now I just want to start season 2 to see what happens now!
Lessons learned from today.
1. never turn down tickets to a comedy act.
2. something being called "free" does make it taste even better (the icecream and pickles).
3. tv shows are bad news, especially seasons/series at a time.
4. all nighters aren't as torturous as i thought. (this time)
5. simple things to do become precious memories when shared with my best friend.

Graduation Day!

After all the graduation stuff we had a BBQ at the park over by Kacie's house. It was fun to visit with everyone and play with the girls!

President Thomas S. Monson was the special speaker for graduation. He spoke about "3 Bridges", which were:
1. Attitude. If you want to be something, act as if you already are.
2. Integrity. Cheaters never prosper.
3. Service. Your money isn't everything, but your time caring for someone else is. (He said that much better)
President Monson is such a great story teller! He stole the show and for once we actually got to applaud his amazing speech!

I didn't make the cake! It turned out pretty cute, but it was Moriah that made it. Thank goodness because there was NO TIME to make anything. So I just found a picture on line of what I wanted the cake to look like and she made one kinda like it. I also really wanted these cute grad cap toppers for cupcakes, so I found a tutorial for her on how to make those and she did it for me. I wish I could have done it myself dang it, but what a life saver to have someone willing to get it done for me!!! Thanks Moriah.

So yesterday was GRADUATION DAY! Jeff graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations. Bobbie graduated with her Associates of Science & Marketing Certificate. It was so fun to get to walk together! Kind of a weird situation though. Because the departments were split up by department for the second half of graduation I was not planning on walking because I would have rather seen Jeff walk. BUT! once we got there we realized there were other couples in the same boat, so they just let the girls walk with their husbands! It was so nice because it just made the day so special! We are so grateful for our amazing parents who came to support us ALL DAY LONG! We love you and thank you so much for all of your love and support!
