Mesa Inn
So I just had to blog about this life lesson learned nearly half hour ago. On our drive back to Utah we decided to stop and stay at a hotel. Jeff said, "I wish you knew how to use technology like my phone so you could reserve us a hotel before we get there." I of course accepted this challenge and succeeded in reserving our hotel room for the night. (I was so proud of myself..iphones are hard) Come to find out I accidently reserved the hotel room on expedia for TOMORROW NIGHT! UGH. So the front desk guy tells us he can't do anything, we have to call expedia and cancel it then reserve a room with him for tonight. So I get on the phone and cancel our mistaken reservation, thank you expedia for answering your phone calls promptly and delivering friendly service. They sent a fax to the front desk like a minute later and bam cancelled for tomorrows reservation so now we can get a room for tonight. I asked the front desk guy if we would be getting the same price as what we had reserved online, so he knew he wasn't going to get away with cheating us on a higher room. He of course agrees to that price and we get our room. Right as he hands us our reciept adds a nice little tid bit of information I like to claim as a life lesson learned. "Oh so next time you should just call us to reserve your room instead of using those online things, they just charge you more. You get your room a lot cheaper if you call and reserve it with us. So for next time." I was thinking,"HMMMMmmmmm....I guess next time I'll have to ask for the lowest price FIRST, then tell them how much expedia charges?" Why didn't he share that info before he ran our card? So lesson learned. Always ask what they are charging before you tell them what you are expecting to be charged. hahaha.
