Viva LAS VEGAS!
So I totally just HATE Las Vegas. It is fun to go down for shopping or fancy dinners and stuff, but it really is just so gross in a million ways. To try and make a more positive experience in going down there I searched "Things to do in Vegas" and it showed some pretty cool stuff!! This got me super excited to get down there and see some new things. We ended up only having time to do the one thing...Take a picture by the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign. It really ended up being a photoshoot and was so fun!! I can't believe we haven't ever seen it before, but for those that haven't gone either it is on this little median at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip. There is some parking, which we missed driving by the first time so we did like all of these "U" turns to get in there finally...but once we got there it was almost dark and there was this totally sketchy girl that asked us if we wanted her to take our picture. I was like,"Um..." thank goodness Jeff stepped in and told her no because we were both sure she just wanted to grab the camera and run! haha. (We, espeically me, are SO CAUTIOUS in Vegas. You just never know!! Reason #1 of why I hate it, you should be able to trust people!) Anyways, then this girls accomplice was watching us like a hawk and after a few minutes of us taking pictures of each other asked if he could take our pictures for us. We again were skeptical and declined. Don't hate us for being so rude, but what would you do!? So finally right before we were about to leave this sweet older black guy came up to us and was like,"This is the place for the perfect picture, right here!" He showed us exactly where to stand and quickly earned our trust...so of course we handed over the camera for him to take a quick shot of us. But once he had us in position he was not letting us go until we had a good time! This pose, try that pose, now do this, pop your hip out like that...we were laughing so hard and it was a blast! Then he said, "Ok for this one I want you to face the sign with your backs toward me." In my mind I was like, "OH NO HE'S GOT THE CAMERA AND IS GONNA RUN!" He then added,"Now keep facing the sign but turn your heads around to me." He was sweet and totally helped us have a good time, of course deserving the tip he wanted all along! :) I laughed so hard when we got in the car and Jeff said he got a little nervous when our helpful friend told us to turn around with our backs faced to him. Does anyone else get paranoid, or is it just us!? haha.
All the lights are so beautiful! And the Venetian is so gorgeous! I don't think I have ever walked through it before. I want to go back sometime and ride the little boats like in Italy! SO CUTE!!!
So I took this awkward picture of Jeff when we were on the escalator and just had to put it on here because when we got home and were looking at pictures Jeff said, "Oh my gosh is that really what I look like from your view! You are seriously so short." He was shocked and I was too because I was like two stairs lower than he was on the escalator!!! So just for clarification I am not a midget :)
So the reason we were in Vegas was to see the Blue Man Group. It was AMAZING!!!! I was thinking about doing that for Jeff's birthday, but decided against it and just did presents. But then...I found this killer deal on the day and BAM we went! It was super fun and worked out perfect because we wouldn't have to leave until after the BYU game. We sat in the splash section which I thought would be kinda fun and it was!!! We were so close and the show was outrageous!!!!! A good time for sure, definitely go if you get a chance, but keep an open mind it is different than anything you have ever seen.
Not the best pictures in the world, but gotta show off our cool ponchos! :) We got seriously splashed with some goop. I don't know what it was but it was like matted in our hair and got on the people behind us who didn't even get ponchos with their seats. haha. it was funny!
Hello Birthday Boy!!!
